"Long Life" Bulbs and Associated Flasher Unit

anglia All Models

Long Life Bulbs
The side, rear, stop and flasher lamp bulbs are now of the “long life” filament type.
Bulb part No’s are:-

Double filament bulb – 211E-13465
Single filament bulb – 211E-13466

These new bulbs, although giving approximately the same light output, are of a higher wattage than previously, and are rated in candle power (CP)
The bulbs can be identified by markings on the bulb bayonet cap as follows:-

Double filament bulb – {12V. 24/6W 12V. 32/4CP} or 12V. 32/4CP
Single filament bulb – 12V. 32CP

Flasher Unit
Owing to the increased wattage of the flasher bulbs from 21W to 24W, the flasher unit is now changed from 42 Watt to a 48 Watt unit, thereby maintaining the same flashing speed as previously.

Model New Flasher Unit Old Flasher Unit
Mk III range; 400E range F/C and N/C Truck range .. .. 211E-13350 100E-13350-B
105E range; "C.315", "C.Cortina" .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. 105E-13350 109E-13350-A

If new “long life” bulbs are used with the early flasher unit, a slight increase in flashing speed will result.

If a new flasher unit is used with the early type bulbs, a slight reduction in flashing speed will result.

In neither instance will the resulting flashing speed be outside the legal limit of between 60 and 120 flashes per minute, but it is advisable to use the correct combination of bulbs and flasher unit.
