Introduced
in 1959, the Ford Anglia 105E was the first of a
new generation of Fords. It replaced the 100E
Anglia although the old body style continued in
production until 1962, renamed as the Ford
Popular. The 997cc engined new Anglia had a
radically restyled body with a reverse angled
rear window designed to give more headroom for
rear-seat passengers. The Allardette Anglias
featured a race-tuned 1500cc engine and were
built by the Allard Motor Company during the
1960s.
This
particular vehicle is a 1964 Ford Allardette
Anglia restored and raced by owner/driver Martin
Fox. It is capable of speeds up to 130mph and is
a competitive member of the historic rallying
movement.
