Faulty Loudspeakers

All Models

If a newly installed loudspeaker produces a harsh sound output it is probably caused by the speaker cone being distorted off centre. A speaker can be checked for this condition by gently pressing the cone whilst holding it close to the ear. If a slight "scraping" sound can be heard it indicates that the distorted cone is rubbing against the speaker barrel; a correct speaker should be silent under these conditions.

All new speakers should be checked as outlined before installation. This will save unnecessary loss of time and avoid needless owner dissatisfaction.
