Hebrides is an un-timed, Closed Stage Rally run
by the Lewis Car Club in August each year to
raise funds for local charities. All proceeds
generated by the 2010 Rally will go to Macmillan
Cancer Support (Western Isles). Rally crew's very
kindly travel to the event and participate at
their own expense. That doesn’t mean to say
it’s not a competitive Rally though, with
each driver wanting to out do the other
competitors. 29 Rally cars took part in the
event. Spectators are charged a minimal
amount to enter the Stages and all day Co-Driver
rides are available in return for a minimum
donation of £200 to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Rides in the top three cars are auctioned off at
pre-event Scrutineering. In ride in Allan
MacKay’s Ford Anglia WRC attracted a winning
bid of £600 - and that was just for a ride as a
Co-Driver and not for the car.
