Ford's Dagenham Dream - 2009 The changing fortunes of
the motor company, which began producing popular
cars at its Dagenham factory in the 1950s,
including the Zephyr and Cortina models, and the
stylish Capri, which appealed to the younger
generation in the 1970s.
At its peak the
Ford plant was producing more than 3,000 vehicles
every day, but with success came increasing
demands on the assembly line workers, who
developed a love-hate relationship with the cars.
