As
1966 draws to a close, the body of a disreputable
journalist found in mysterious circumstances
threatens to expose unspeakable horrors from the
past. As the investigation deepens, DC Endeavour
Morse and DI Fred Thursday find themselves
confronted by a wall of silence and a
disparate group of men unwilling to talk. In a
police force increasingly tainted with cronyism,
the two men must band together, peeling back
layers of corruption extending to the upper
echelons of Oxford society.
