British Telecom
Phonecard
This
is a British Telecom Phonecard produced by the
Leeds Model Centre in association with the
Lancashire Constabulary. The card came in a white
carboard sleeve with the following printed on it.
"Lancashire police introduced
Panda cars in 1966, after a successful experiment
in Kirkby where officers were given five cars to
patrol their beats. This resulted in a dramatic
reduction in crime, so 175 Ford Anglias were
ordered for the force. Painted blue with white
patches, the cars were nicknamed Pandas
by the newspapers"
